Meet the Sunshine team!

Sunshine Rabbit Center is powered by an amazing community of staff, volunteers, fosters, adopters, and more. Say hello to the Sunshine staff!

Audrey (groomer extraordinaire)

Audrey has been volunteering with animals for 40 years. She loves being with rabbits and finds her time with them very calming. Audrey currently has two rabbits: Leo, a 5-year-old boy, who is grumpy and never wants human attention and Lolly, a 7-year-old girl, who loves attention and is sweet and bossy. No one can groom a fussy bunny like Audrey!

Danelle (bunnycare team)

Danelle started her journey Sunshine Rabbit Center as a volunteer as a way to help her through the loss of her own bunny, Boba, who she had for 6 years. Through her work at Sunshine and chatting with lovely bun folks, she feels like Boba’s memory still lives on. When she’s not at Sunshine, Danelle is a master’s student at UCI’s MCRS program. She loves chatting about all things conservation, natural science, botany, wildlife, and bunnies!

Pamela (bunny admin)

Pamela rescued her Californian rabbit, Ms. May, in 2022 and has been volunteering with rabbits since 2021. She’s a studying screenwriting at the American Film Institute and is passionate about educating people on the proper care and handling of rabbits.

Bo (team lead)

Bo is the proud parent of five bunnies and one goofy human kid. Bo is active in their LGBTQ communities and passionate about building a diverse, inclusive environment for rabbit families of all backgrounds. Bo splits their time between being the team lead at Sunshine Rabbit Center and a professor at UC Irvine, where they research queer studies and video games. They love water parks, strong coffee, and persimmons.

Elsa (manager & bonding lead)

Elsa is a Sunshine manager, the lead on matchmaking and bonding, and a registered veterinary assistant. She has nearly twenty years of experience working with animals and animal-related retail. Her home is full of animals she has rescued!

Briton (bunnycare team)

Briton is a Long Beach local who loves working with furry friends. Her most recent bunny boy, Tribble, lived to the ripe old age of 14, and taught her many lessons on how to care for rabbits at all the various stages of their life. Outside of her Sunshine time, she’s mom to a rascally baby boy (on the precipice of walking, eek!), a freelance copywriter, and a comic book creator too.

Leo (bunnycare team)

Leo got interested in rabbits when he was looking for a place to volunteer in 2020 so that he could get out of the house more often. Now he’s here at Sunshine Rabbit Center with his own rabbit named Milo that he adopted from Sunshine! He loves to help rabbits find good homes and talk to people about owning rabbits and caring for them. In his free time he like to play video games, watch movies, and listen to music.
