Here’s how to spend time with our rescue rabbits!
If you’re interested in adopting, please visit our Adopt page. We’ll schedule a time for you to sit with our rabbits and see if adopting is right for you. You can also stop by during our open hours (11:00am - 5:00pm, Thursday - Sunday) to start the adoption process.
Not planning to adopt but still want to spend time with rescue bunnies? Book a “Veg with Bunnies” session, a chance to unwind with rabbits while feeding them their greens. Trust us, it’s adorable.
“Veg with Bunnies” (60 minutes, ages 12+, $20 per person, veggies provided, advance registration required)
Join us at Sunshine Rabbit Center for a calm, relaxing hour spent hanging out with rescue rabbits. Sit with the bunnies on the floor (rabbits feel safest with four feet on the ground) in individual “pods” - open-top enclosures where the bunnies can roam around you. If the rabbits are open to affection, give gentle head rubs. Feed the bunnies their veggies (provided) and enjoy the crunch-munching. Breathe deep and pet a bunny.
Rabbits are curious, smart, social animals. Rescue rabbits need time out of their cages to get comfortable with human attention. So vegging out with bunnies isn’t just fun - it helps socialize the rabbits and gives them a better chance of being adopted! Rabbits are amazing pets but they’re commonly misunderstood. So vegging with bunnies is also a chance for non-bunny owners to learn about rabbits and why they need our help.
60-minute sessions: brief orientation + 3-4 hangout rounds with different bunnies.
Ages 12+: “Veg with Bunnies” is designed for adults and teens. Rabbits are fragile and shy, and younger children can sometimes accidentally scare or hurt rabbits. Let’s keep the vegging vibe quiet and mature. Thanks for understanding.
Small group sessions: maximum of 4 people vegging with the bunnies at one time. More personalized attention from our staff; more one-on-one time with buns.
Heart-melting bunny love - but it’s up to the bunnies: Just like people, some bunnies like to be touched more than others. We choose bunnies for veg time who we think will enjoy human attention. But bunnies always have the right to keep their distance, say “no thanks” to pets, or let us know they’d like to swap out.
Cost: $20 per person. All proceeds directly support rescue rabbits & help them find safe, loving homes!
Bonus savings: Fall in love and save some money! If you decide to adopt from Sunshine within 60 days of your “Veg with Bunnies” session, your ticket price & the cost of any items you purchase from our shop go toward your adoption fee.
